Asian stock markets opened mixed on Monday with Japan's Nikkei average gained 0.6 percent led by a rise in tech stocks.Oil shares gained on Monday following last week's gains in oil prices such as Nippon Oil Corp. gained 2.56 percent.Bank stocks were lower.Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index down 0.30 percent down 63.31 to 21,112.57.Banking stocks were trading lower such as HSBC down 1.32 percent.
South Korean KOSPI Index was down 0.13 percent down 2.20 points to 1,644.84 mainly led by profit taking in banking stocks including KB Financial was down 1.4 percent,Shinhan Financial down 1.7 percent.Tech stocks gained taking cues from Wall Street with Hynix Semiconductor gained 2.3 percent.Australian stocks gained 0.32 percent up 15.10 points up 4,687.00.Qantas Airways gained 4.4 percent after forecasting positive earnings guidance.Mining stocks also gained with BHP Billiton up 2 percent,Rio Tinto gained 0.5 percent.Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.03 percent up 0.89 points 3,114.77.
