Indian Markets Recover Led By IT

Indian markets today opened gap down but recovered in late trade,led by IT, to end in the positive as European markets were trading flat.Sensex gained 0.50 percent up 87.29 points to close at 17,509.80.NSE gained 0.45 percent up 23.55 points, to settle at 5,233.95.Market breadth was positive with advances at 776 against declines of 504 on the NSE.BSE Midcap closed up 0.65 percent up 45.16 points to 6,973.47 and Small Cap indices was up 0.89 percent up 78.32 points to 8,832.00.

Bse IT index was up 3.99 percent up 207.06 points to 5,401.63.Tata Consultancy Services was up 5.23 percent up 39.15 to close at 788.25.Infosys Technologies was up 3.82 percent up 98.80 to close at 2,686.25.

Bse Metal index opened gap down but ended higher up 0.85 percent up 151.31 points to 17,940.78.Steel Authority of India was up 3.31 percent up 7.75 to close at 241.75.Tata Steel was up 2.16 percent up 13.55 to close at 639.80.

Bse Bankex index was down 0.65 percent down 64.34 points to 9,902.84.State Bank of India was down 1.15 percent down 25.40 to close at 2,177.85.IndusInd Bank was down 2.49 percent down 3.50 to close at 136.85.

Bse Realty index was up 0.79 percent up 31.95 points to 4,080.42.Housing Development & Infrastructure was up 1.97 percent up 7.20 to close at 371.90.Sobha Developers was up 1.22 percent up 3.45 to close at 285.25.

Bse Oil & Gas index was up 0.35 percent up 36.46 points to 10,577.96.Aban Offshore was up 2.66 percent up 39.15 to close at 1,511.95.Indian Oil Corporation was up 2.19 percent up 6.95 to close at 324.15.

Bse Auto index was down 0.51 percent down 38.02 points to 7,435.44.Escorts was up 4.40 percent up 6.65 to close at 157.75.Mahindra & Mahindra was down 2.91 percent down 34.55 to close at 1,154.70.

Top Gainers were GTL Infrastructure up 13.94 percent, PTC India up 5.56 percent,ACC Ltd up 5.31 percent, Bhushan Steel Ltd. up 5.25 percent.

Top losers were Lanco Infratech down 3.69 percent,India Infoline down 3.19 percent,Mahindra & Mahindra down 2.91 percent,Religare Enterprises down 2.61 percent.
